Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is the perfect movie for your kids this weekend. It has enough action and special effects and cute animals to keep the kids watching and the adventure is exciting enough for the bigger kids who know their Jules Verne! It might bore the adults a little bit but what I did was just put my frame of my mind into that of a young adult - and you'd be surprised at what you'd like! The special effects are topnotch. The plotline treatment is vintage Disney - meaning - everything is resolved quickly. Luis Guzman is funny. The presence of Dwayne Johnson assures you nothing can stop the guys. The quick thinking character of Josh Hutcherson ensures that we have a thinking here, and Vanessa Hudgens is our cute-as-a-button love interest! This is Disney after all - and everything just fits nicely - no PG (Parental Guidance) required!
