European and Filipino Movies Dominate Major Categories of 2012 Fabe-lous Movie Awards

European and Filipino movies dominated the major categories of the 2012 Fabe-lous Movie Awards.  Not one movie dominated the awards with six movies getting two awards each.

The big winner was the Swedish film, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, winning Best Film and Best Actress Drama for Noomi Rapace.  The Danish film, In A Better World, also finished strongly, snaring Best Director Drama and Best Actor Drama for Mikael Persbrandt.  The third European film to win an award was French director Philippe Lioret who won Best Director Drama.

Local movie, Ligo Na U Lapit Na Me snared Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Movie Song awards.  Eugene Domingo of Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank won Best Actress Comedy honors while Martin Escudero of Zombadings won Best Actor Comedy.  Kris Gazmen and Ricardo Fernando III, screenwriters of No Other Woman, got the Best Original Screenplay awards.  Thanks to these indie movies, local cinema fared well in this year's awards.
