Zombadings 1: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington: My #6 Favorite Movie of 2011
Zombadings has accomplished what no other Pinoy film has done in almost 20 years! Normally, in my Top 10 list, Pinoy films get as high as #10. That's just how disinterested I have become with our local cinema, but with Zombadings at #6, it puts Filipino cinema as just as interesting as other countries' films especially that two other Filipino independent films are in my Top 10 of the year - so bravo to all these directors, writers and actors who made these films!
Zombadings is definitely one of the funniest movies of 2011 and Martin Escudero does a fantastic job of a straight guy who is confused with his "homosexualization"! As a gay man, I am impressed at how this young man acts! It's just so natural and not put on which is the normal characterization of being gay among our straight actors. I also love the fact that some of my favorite 80s actors like John Regala and Janice de Belen are here. I've actually missed them on the big screen - so it was great to see them back!
