Mark Wahlberg's evolution from just a Calvin Klein poster boy to wannabe rapper to respected actor and Oscar nomination can be a template which many of today's hunk actors like Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum can emulate. Yup, you can respect from the industry, your peers and the ordinary man on the street - if you can act and pick the right roles along the way. Mark is actually one of the few actors who have a #1 song in the US charts. I can only think of Jamie Foxx as the only other Oscar nominated actor in recent years, to have that achievement also.
Anyway, Mark is back in local screens with Contraband, and although he doesn't go shirtless here - there is the same intense machismo type of acting here - which has become kinda his mark in many of his recent movies.
