Movie Review: We Bought A Zoo
It is kinda hard to believe that this is actually a true story, considering how expensive it is to maintain even just one pet! The protagonist in this movie, Benjamin Mee, and the real zoo is actually in England, but since this movie was made for an American audience, the setting was moved to California.
Well, the movie is formulaic at best and I think it's geared more to families with kids - since it involves animals in the story. The story is quite intriguing though but I still find that all the loose ends are tied so neatly - and so quickly - without too much agony. In real life, when you do things like this - the decision to do it doesn't come very quickly!
Anyway, Matt Damon does a very good job here as the Dad! And the music, whew, it's so beautiful! Trust Cameron Crowe to come up with a very good playlist for this movie! Apparently, the lead singer of Sigur Ros worked on the music of this album, no wonder the movie's music moments are a-plenty!
