Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is one of my favorite directors. I actually like all three of his previous movies, Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel. Biutiful follows the same vein as Babel with an international cast and a host of intertwining international problems which can be seen at both a microcosmic and a macrocosmic level. This movie is definitely not your normal popcorn type of entertainment but you can't get your eyes off the screen as Javier Bardem has such a commanding presence. I love Inarritu's ensemble of international actors too! It makes you open your world a little bit to how people live on the other side of the world.
